Built in 1948, Laswell isn't the largest or most famous house in Palm Springs.
That's part of its charm.
It's the kind of home that represents thousands of postwar houses built during Palm Springs' golden era—thoughtfully designed, deeply connected to the landscape, and intended for everyday living rather than spectacle.
Over the years, like many homes, it changed.
Additions were made.
Details disappeared.
Materials were replaced.
Its original character became harder to recognize.
Our goal isn't to make Laswell brand new.
It's to help it remember who it was.
Every decision—from restoring architectural details to selecting materials inspired by the home's original era—is made with respect for its history while ensuring it feels timeless for the next generation.
Along the way we'll share the successes, the challenges, the discoveries, and the remarkable people helping bring Laswell back to life.
